Responsibilities

Position Summary

The PSA Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the strategic leadership and vision of all front-line operations including Flight Operations, Inflight Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, the Integrated Operations Center, Operations Planning and Performance. The SOO will develops and maintain excellent level of operating performance to maintain a safe and reliable airline. This role ensures that all operational groups meet the FAA, PSA and any additional standards established by other authorities. The role is also responsible for achieving improved efficiencies through the implementation of new tools and technologies and ensuring that the cost efficiency plans are identified and executed. This strategic and executive role works with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at PSA Airlines to help direct the business in achieving its operational and overall objectives.

 
Job Responsibilities
  • Sets the strategic direction of the operations with the CEO of the airline and drives direction and execution to accomplish all key performance metrics
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to support the airline's growth and profitability
  • Prioritize safety and security throughout the organization, ensuring that all employees and passengers are safe and protected
  • Drive customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and exceeding customer expectations
  • Formulates actionable business strategies, objectives, and plans aligned with both short- and long-term organizational goals set in conjunction with the CEO
  • Oversees all aspects of the airlines’ operations including Flight Operations, Inflight Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, the Integrated Operations Center, Operations Planning and Performance.
  • Oversees the strategic development of comprehensive airline supportability, forecasting and monitoring against plan
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce the airline's environmental footprint and promote sustainability
  • Provides strategic direction and allocates resources for Inflight, Flight, IOC, Maintenance and Engineering, and Operations Planning and Performance
  • Develop and implement crisis management plans to address potential disruptions and emergencies
  • Pioneers innovative changes in current practices and processes, leveraging technology and automation to transform Inflight, Flight, Planning, IOC, and Maintenance and Engineering operations
  • Establishes a management organization capable of exercising operational control of all PSA Airlines flights as delegated by the part 119 Director of Operations
  • Supports and develops the senior leadership team and develops leaders within the operations organization
  • Ensures that the collective bargaining agreements align with the airline's operational, financial, and strategic goals
  • Responsible for the compliance with all applicable collective bargaining agreements
  • Continually monitors and strives to improve safety and quality policy effectiveness by communicating the importance of meeting statutory and regulatory requirements as well as conducting periodic management of safety and quality reviews
  • Provides necessary support for the Company's Safety Management System, Internal Evaluation and Safety Audit Programs
  • Ensures that Flight, Inflight, IOC, Maintenance and Engineering; meet or exceed the standard required by the FAA, PSA and any additional standards established by other authorities
  • Ensures that resources are available for production and revision of manuals and other documentation for dispatch, cabin crew, and training
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs

Position Specifics

Qualifications
 
Required
  • 10 years of leadership experience managing cross-departmental teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Planning, Aeronautics or related area or equivalent experience/training
  • Previous experience in part 121 operations with an emphasis in regional operations
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
