Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Supervisor of Training and Records Support will impact PSA Airlines’ business growth through daily management of crewmember qualifications. This position contributes to the success of the airline by ensuring all pilots, flight attendants, and dispatchers are qualified in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and the AQP Training Manual to maintain the highest level of safety and service for our customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leadership for best utilization of resources and efficiency in hotel, transportation and per diem costs for flight and in-flight operations.
  • Monitor trainee progression and evaluations.
  • Forecast and communicate resource needs with stakeholders for future airline growth to include device, simulator, and instructor needs.
  • Develop research schedules to react to various proposed operational changes.
  • Provide site administration and training for MINT.
  • Function as liaison between the training department and crew scheduling, crew planning, crew pay to streamline processes in response to changes in the industry.
  • Provide support to the training coordinators to maintain process integrity in the absence of the manager of training administration.
  • Ensure all Pilot, FA, and Dispatch crew records are up to date, accurate, and are in alignment with the applicable training manual.
  • Produce crew records to leadership for all levels of crisis management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a procedures manual for all tasks related to review, input, and auditing of crew records and scheduling.
  • Manage the student planner for sim assignments, removals, and leave administration.
  • Monitor pilot evaluations and track trainees thru all phases of training.
  • Upgrade new systems and procedures to streamline processes in response to industry changes.
  • Collaborate with the manager of AQP to ensure records accuracy and compile data for FAA/NTSB reporting.
  • Work with the safety department’s internal auditors to ensure accuracy of records as the subject matter expert.
  • Effectively communicate with crewmembers regarding federal regulations.
  • Communicate with leadership and the FAA sharing findings or concerns and providing recommendations for resolutions.
  • Validate pilot certificates are legal to avoid VDR’s. Work with the FAA to get temporaries when errors are found.
  • Function as liaison between OE and scheduling to ensure timely output and line supportability of crews by reporting training completions and requalifications as well as landing, consolidation, medical and pilot certificate expirations.
  • Cover operations training coordinators, manager of training. administration and the AQP manager duties as needed to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics

Qualifications

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous airline training records department, or training department experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable FARs.
  • Understanding of 121 Flight and Inflight Training Manuals.
  • Proficient in Crew Trac, Qual, MINT and Sabre.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
  • At least 3 years Flight Operations Management experience.
  • At least 1 years of Flight Training Support Experience.
  • Experience with Comply Schedule.
  • Experience writing technical documents and/or periodical literature.

Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Training Admin/Crew Records.

Authorities: None.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
