Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Maintenance Apprenticeship Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of PSA’s Apprenticeship Program, designed to train and develop the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals. This role ensures program alignment with PSA’s operational needs, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while fostering a structured learning environment that supports career progression.

Job Responsibilities

Program Development & Implementation:

  • Design and implement a structured Apprenticeship Program that provides a clear learning pathway for entry-level maintenance personnel.
  • Help develop training modules, hands-on skill-building activities, and assessment tools to ensure apprentices acquire critical competencies.
  • Collaborate with PSA’s Maintenance Training and Technical Operations teams to integrate apprenticeship training with real-world maintenance tasks.

Mentorship & Support:

  • Establish a mentorship framework by selecting and training experienced technicians to guide apprentices.
  • Develop support systems that ensure apprentices receive ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.

Training Oversight & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all training activities align with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of apprentice progress, assessments, and certifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with maintenance leadership and HR to identify workforce needs and pipeline development strategies.
  • Work with external technical schools, preparation institutions and A&P programs to provide learning opportunities for apprentices.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor apprentice progress, success rates, and skill acquisition to refine program effectiveness.
  • Collect feedback from apprentices, mentors, and leadership to drive continuous improvement in training content and delivery.
  • Adjust program components based on industry trends, technological advancements, and company needs.

Administrative & Logistical Coordination:

  • Develop and manage training schedules, rotations, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee program budgets and resource planning to ensure effective use of training tools and materials.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping and reporting on apprenticeship outcomes and program performance metrics.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics

Qualifications

Required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Education, or a related field.
  • A&P License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or maintenance training.
  • Strong understanding of FAA maintenance training regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.
Preferred
  • Experience in instructional design, workforce development, or mentoring programs

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Assistant Director of MTX Training/ MTX Trainer Manager.

Authorities: None

Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
