Position Summary

The Flight Operations Base Manager is responsible for the overall support and administration of a crew base. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and knowledge of company operations and policies. Support the Chief Pilots Office and ensuring pilots are supported in their daily job functions and the operations run smoothly. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the POH and FOM as well as company operations specifications and manual systems. 
  • Work with the Chief Pilots Office to maintain the highest standards of conduct, performance, and competency. 
  • Participate in labor relations grievances between pilots and the company. 
  • Monitor pilot assignments. 
  • Partner with other departments to ensure exceptional crew member performance and training.  
  • Organize and control documentation affecting the pilot’s personnel records (excluding training, flight, duty, and other records delegated to other departments). 
  • Understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) philosophy and application. 
  • Research and analyze operational issues, find root causes, recommend solutions using company SMS policies and philosophy. Establish and maintain systems of accountability, capability, commitment, execution, and results in sustainable ways 
  • Maintain good working relationships with other departments (i.e. Inflight, Maintenance, OCC, Safety etc.) to support the operation. 
  • Review and process pilot expense reports. 
  • Create, complete, and maintain tracking spreadsheets. 
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Position Specifics



  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Adobe Acrobat. 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks without direct oversight and within deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operations with respect to aviation standards and safe operating practices, 14 CFR, and operations specifications.     
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.   
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.


  • Previous flight operations experience. 
  • Previous line experience as a pilot. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining agreements. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable FARs and PSA operations specifications.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
