Position Summary

With general leadership from the Director of MOC, CASS and Continuous Improvement, responsible for directing, managing and coordinating activities related to Maintenance Control Operations. Oversees a growing organization that includes multiple direct and indirect reports. Assist and support the Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering and other senior management in projecting a strong commitment to the uncompromising promotion of safety and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Continually assess the organization's mission critical requirements, devise improvement action plans and incorporate as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all PSA Airlines required policies, practices, procedures, and processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet near and long-term initiatives to maximize fleet availability.
  • Conduct organizational needs analyses, collaborating with business unit leaders, and recommend proposed solutions to meet business challenges.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum and Development and other business partners to improve the department's Learning and Development Programs to strengthen skills and competencies, while driving an ongoing culture of learning and development.
  • Maintain proactive and ongoing awareness of industry trends and developments as well as functional best practices.
  • Leverage technical expertise in development of methods to minimize aircraft out-of-service time and fleet MEL rate.
  • Develop and maintain organization performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Manage the successful delivery of projects and initiatives using an effective balance of internal and external resources.
  • Control costs to maintain departmental budgets.
  • Evaluate technical support base and develop vendors to expand capacity and locations.
  • Ensure departmental communications are timely, factual, and meeting the needs of the business.

  • Approves, controls, monitors and schedules non-routine and deferred maintenance activities including
  • MEL/CDL requirements as required by this manual.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated
  • Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • In absence, the Director of Maintenance Operations Control, CASS and Continuous Improvement will handle and re-assign tasks.
  • All other duties as assigned.




  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance Management or related field or equivalent experience
  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
  • Knowledge of and ability to design, implement and monitor organizational strategies related to employee productivity, budgets, and systems
  • At least five years experience leading teams (within a Part 121 maintenance organization preferred)
  • Extensive experience working in maintenance control or line maintenance organizations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software required.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.


  • Experience with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group (MHI RJ) CRJ aircraft or similar preferred.

Additional Information

Work Environment: This job operates in an airplane. This role will occasionally use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
