Responsibilities

Position Summary


As the Lead Mechanic, you will impact PSA Airlines’ business growth by coordinating the activities of the assigned maintenance department. In directing the operations of the maintenance personnel, you will work to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.


Job Responsibilities


• Plans, directs, layouts and coordinates the activities of the assigned Maintenance Department so as to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency. The Lead Mechanic is a working member of the maintenance group. The Lead Mechanic will not be required to lead or direct more than 20 employees.
• Trains and assists subordinates in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
• Maintains the work areas, building, ground support equipment and materials that are utilized for aircraft maintenance in safe, clean and operable condition.
• Makes certain that the responsible mechanic properly executes all necessary work records.
• Properly coordinates between assigned maintenance personnel and the Inspection Department.
• Delegates the duties of the Lead Mechanic. However, such delegation does not relieve the Lead Mechanic of the overall responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and company.

Position Specifics

Qualifications
 
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• A&P License
• PSA indoctrination training, Run and Taxi Qualified, Airworthiness Release Qualified
• Competent in the use of required calibrated test equipment
• 2 Years of experience within MTX PSA OR 2 years of CRJ Experience or part 121 experience
• Currently Qualified by FARs  - 65.83 
• Ability to navigate {knowledge of} applicable Manuals (GMM, AMM, FIM, Wiring diagrams etc) 
• Run Taxi/Qualified (within 120 days) AMA if applicable
• Competent in the use of required calibrated test equipment. 
• Thorough knowledge of PSA Manuals.
• In good company standing (not on any step level for attendance or performance)
• PSA Indoctrination training and General Familiarization (training qualifications accepted) 
• Good organizational and Strong communication skills. 
• Airworthiness Release Qualified
• Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment.
• Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English
• If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
